Business gifts are goods that you may receive from a business partner, which could influence your actions and decisions. They can be a form of corruption. Acceptance of gifts is tolerated if they are valued at less than €150 per person, per year, per supplier or partner. Beyond this amount, you must inform your manager, as acceptance is subject to their prior authorization.
« A conflict of interest is a situation that arises when the independent, impartial, and objective exercise of a person’s functions is likely to be influenced by another public or private interest distinct from the one they must defend in those functions. » transparency-france.org In other words, a conflict of interest can potentially compromise the neutrality and impartiality with which a person must carry out their duties due to their personal interests.
You can find several cases of conflicts of interest by downloading the Conflict of Interest Guide provided by the Transparency-France website.
